1948...some of the soldiers were getting home from the war and producing the generation of the Baby Boomers (that's me).
Not very many cars on highway.
No big through ways.
In the 50's we moved to another state and had a 2 seater outhouse and an heater in front room and no doors on our bedrooms...We looked like the Grapes of Wrath Jud family moving in....Black/white tv - must have good vision pic was so small. An old junk car for my Dad to go to work. Sleeping in same bed with my older sisters....they put me at their feet! It wasn't pleasant by any means but -- here's where it gets good. We had cookouts on weekends and Church on Sunday and then in the aft. we always went for a ride singing songs together. Family........that was family.

1971! Custom vans, bell bottoms, orange and green automobiles, Easy Listening Classic Rock, American Bandstand on the weekends! Afros, and I think the song "ROck the BoAT," don't rock the boat, baby, rock the boat, don't tip the boat OVA! came out that year, but I could be wrong. I just remember LOVING IT! when I was little. My neighbor had 2 boats in his garage, but of course I didn't see them until I was around 4 or 5. We went to the beach all the time and Dairy Queen. My Daddy called it "DQ." "Let's get some DQ, girls!" (lots of girls in my family) It was narly.

I was born in 1960, and my yahoo name is Flowerchild-that pretty much says it all. Funny how Judas Rabi said that. =)
