Anna Nicole's lawyer entourage was from Texas. It was easier for him to address them this way with 20 attorneys in the courtroom.
As for calling Miss Arthur "Mama", Judge Seidlin was over-exhausted from extended days and late night court proceedings (He lived and breathed the case 24/7 as long as he was the presiding judge) causing him to feel a connection with all parties in the courtroom. He mentioned during his verdict that he would be taking an extended rest after he stepped off the bench yesterday and that his blood pressure was rising from the proceedings.
Poor guy, I would have never taken his place for all the money in the world.
