No I am not afraid of being in a crash when I fly in plane. I really enjoy being in a plane and flying.

I just flew to Florida last week and had never been on a plane since 1958 (I'm older than dirt), The thought of crashing was on my mind. My wife won't fly and she told me that she cried when I left for Florida. But you could be thinking the same thing when riding in a car.

i've flown tons of times, there is still a certain irrational fear sometimes (very rare... like when the plane gets caught up in a slight turbulence) BUT I console myself quickly by telling me that I've never heard of a commercial (relatively new plane) crashing, it is as rare as spotting a UFO which almost to none never happens, commercial planes are very secure. i would be more afraid of flying in a small private plane, those crash all the time.

My first time flying I was interested in the scenary from way up high, but when the motor changed and it was making funny noices I started to get scared. To answer your question I'm scared a little bit of crashing. Air plains crashing isn't what I'm really afraid of. Hijacking the airliner. You have more a chance of being hijacked then crashing.

Sometimes I am afraid... but did you know that there is a better chance of getting in a car crash on the way TO the airport than to crash on the airplane?

Not when I know the chances of me getting into a car accident is higher. The only reason we feel safer in a car is because we feel in control, when in an airplane you barely see who is flying the plane.

I've had 2 fairly close calls in planes....
WAY more than that in cars..... the testing to qualify as a pilot is a lot more stringent than that to pass out drivers' licenses!
