Some of the most amazing people I have ever met are gay. They're not so different then you and me. Why do they have to take so much crap?

They are very close-minded and refuse to accept something that they don't understand. Many people are against homosexuality because supposedly the Bible says it is wrong. Well, the truth is, they take the verses out of context. If they really knew how to interpret the Bible, they would realize that there is nothing in there that says being gay is wrong. It is time that people accept that gay people are normal and are just like anyone else.

A lot of the hatred of gays is based on "religious training" as well as the social mores of the family and society they grew up in or live in. Historically, there has been a lot of fear and hatred towards gay men as well as lesbians, justified by church leaders, laws, and "mob mentality". In the US, there are many laws concerning sexual practices that are on the books that can be used against heterosexuals as well as gay people. The primary problem I see in the US is that most people think that you can't be fired from your job because you're gay or thought to be gay, but sexual orientation is a valid reason to fire someone in most of the states in the US. I'd rather get employment rights before I got the right to marry. I don't even like marriage.

Agree with everything said above. Most people view homosexuality through those narrow religious glasses. They say it's wrong because the Bible says a man should only be with a women and vice versa. That's the main perspective. The sad part is...the Bible was not written by "God" or Jesus. It was written by men hundreds of years after the fact. And if they really considered themselves "Christ-like" then they would hang out with and get to know all the outcasts of society because that is what Jesus really did.

Blame it on the bible, dear. Many families have taught over the years that there is only one type of way to do things and anything else is wrong. There are lots of stupid people in this world because of it. Don't listen to them and try to think for yourself and form your own opinions and get the FACTS from us. Gay people. You are right - we are not so different. Sounds like YOU are the smart one.

That is a great question, and like you I know some wonderful people that just happen to be gay and I wouldn't want to have them not in my life for the world, as my life is sooooooo very much richer with them in it and they are some of the most loving individuals.

#1 tell your friends to keep there heads up to be proud for who they are.it don't matter if were are all gay or not theres always one ****** out there to put down or shunned some one.i;m not gay but I do have a lot of respect for them.to tell you the truth what bussniss is it for people to butt in where their nose don;t belong.you all have friends here that care about other peoples feelings.remember this old saying you reap what you soul..thanks for bringing up this question......take care my friend.. god bless.

Because it's against the Bible.God hasn't created us that way.It's going against god's plan on purpose.
