I recommend you do a little research with the Business Opportunity Search Engine. Being community driven it’s a cross between a search engine and a Wikipedia. You can add, delete and improve the results for much more focused answers than a general search engine can provide. http://www.BusinessOpportunitySearchEngine.com

What home based businesses are, is an excellent vehicle to help you increase your net worth. Bottom line. The best way to tell if they are legit is if they are product driven. The ones that tell you that there is nothing to sell, easy money, etc. are frauds. There positively has to be a product involved or the company will fail. Another thing to look for is how long they have been in business and what standing they are with the BBB and the Direct Sellers Association.
Then you have to investigate the compensation plan. Most are very difficult to understand, but you can either try to figure it out yourself or take it to someone who can decipher it for you. Usually people learn it as they go, but that can get you into trouble if you discover 6 months down the road that the comp plan really doesn't pay. Always look for what the bonuses are and how you can achieve them.

Incomes of $20k/mo are definately not unusual in this business, but you have to be dedicated to increasing your net worth. Keep in mind that there is no cap on your salary, you are paid in direct proportion to your efforts, so there's lots of room to grow into whatever your heart desires. It requires no college education, but you need to be willing to learn, learn, learn. I cannot imagine ever doing anything else!

Don't let anyone tell you that working from home is not profitable. It can be, what most people fail to realize is that it takes work and sometimes investment in order to make any business, whether online of offline work.

Online business have gotten a bad rap, mainly because of a few bad apples. There are plenty of legitimate online businesses. The trick is to research any company you want to do business with, check their compensation plans, their reputation (BBB or Internet Ripoff 2 good sources). If you are just starting out and not sure how or what to do, go with a company that has extensive training and support.

Treat your online business as you would any other business, meaning put time into marketing, and it will be a success. Maybe not overnight, as many people believe, but over time you will have built a good income.

If anyone wants more information, email me. I have been marketing online for over two years, and have had my ups and downs, but I am building a good income.

I have a few that are starting to pay off and I have wasted my money on a few things that never panned out no matter how much I tried or how hard I worked them. Some of my projects that I thought were a waste of time turned out to actually have merit. Time was the factor. I still have multitudes to learn but as I keep on trying and never giving up things slowly start to happen. Just be very care full. You will feel stupid when you get taken to the cleaners but those are good lessons believe it or not. It most definitely will not happen over night. Not for me anyways. Expect to be in it for the long run and I think one would be better off. And never ever ever ever give up. That's the exact point at which you will fail.

Most of the home based businesses are Multi Level Marketing. They do not work out to well, because in addition to you selling their stupid projects, they require you to recruit other members in your down line.

In most states MLM is considered a scam and a pyramid scheme.

No one on the bottom of the pyramid ever make any money. The only ones that make money are the ones at the top of the heap.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

eBay is a good option. You can work on your schedule and do as much as you need or want to. You can fit eBay in around other things in your life. I am an eBay Silver Level Powerseller and have sold 12,000 items. My monthly profit averages $3500.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Best of luck to you!

The businesses don't make you money. You make the money by running the business properly.
