Mac sucks plain and simple! Apple users only make up 5 percent of the computer user market, if that doesnt give you a clue, go out and look at any software you might be interested in, look at the requirements. You will find a hundred applications that run on a PC to every 1 Mac app!

I suggest neither. Buy a laptop without a system and install Ubuntu, which is a free, high-quality Linux system. You may find it similar to Mac, but it has been proofread and edited by MANY people over several years. Vista was built quickly with no previous code base, and as such it is not compatible with anything else and there are many security loops. Apple adds extra fees and their operating systems can be expensive and confusing. It's up to you, but Ubuntu is considered one of the best because of its many free programs: GIMP image editor, WinE Windows Emulator, etc. Good luck with your laptop, whichever you choose

Mac, they're easy to use and OS X is stable, there are comparable software that don't crash as often as windows sofware does and to top it all off, the new Intel Macs can run windows.
Vista has a lot of bugs to fix and most of the windows software are not compatible with vista yet.

Vista, there is like no programs that I see on the shelf that work with the macs. And also as far as the macs go, they suck! I used one at my school and it was a pain in the A $$ alone to just turn the supid thing on because the power button is hard to find and half the time didn't work.

Go with vista because there will be more programs for it, but wait at least 6 months if you can so that microsoft can make service packs for it si that it is more stable because it is still fairly buggy at the moment

Mac!
Vista is too new, too buggy, and too crappy.
OSX is a fantastic operating system. And with the Intel processor Macs you can run Windows on it if the need arises.
The quality of Macs is superior, but for that you'll pay a heftier price than you would for most Windoze machines.
