If you have to wear heels or something on the "fancy" side...you can use some coarse sand paper and skuff up the bottom of them really good. It helps some. And they also have a stick on thing for the bottom of high heel dress shoes that keep you from sliding. (I used to use those on my 4" pumps for the dance floor~back in the day:) LOL You can find them at a shoe repair shop.
Good Luck!!

I wear plain old gym type shoes, I'm a RN and they are not only comfortable, they are quiet on the floors and don't slip. If you can't wear gym shoes, there are fairly inexpensive shoes that have rubber soles (areosoles for example). Just look around.

Shoe goo will quickly pick up debris and no longer have that tacky quality. You'll need special soles. I can't think of a treatment that would otherwise suffice.
