Can a pharmaceutical rep work as a pharmacist and vise versa? or does each of them require a separate study ?

A pharmaceutical rep can not work as a pharmacist, but a pharmacist may work as a pharmaceutical rep. Pharmacology is what a pharmacist studies.

A pharmacist can work as a pharmaceutical rep, but not vice versa. The most common degree for a pharmaceutical sales rep is Communications, not a science degree.
Pharmacy is the art and science of dispensing and preparing medicines.
Pharmaceutics is the science of how the dosage forms actually work in the body.
Pharmacology is the study of the preparation, use, and drug effects.
