I need to lose a few inches in my stomach.

yup sit-ups work. but i find that crunches are better. they are like sit-ups but with half work. i do crunches every night and you start to feel the burn in your stomache. it tones the midsection when you feel it tighten. hope that helps?

i agree sit ups are grate in that section
