It is all based on the idea that if we can just kill the right people we can have peace.
Following this logic peace will never happen.

Because we are too stupid to act imaginatively through discussion and negotiation to arrive at a settlement acceptable to both parties in the situation - which usually means neither gets exactly what they might want in the first place. It also can lead to a better soluton than either combatant imagined in the first place. It's often what is reached after the war and all the waste and destruction - as in World War 11. On the other hand, faced with some idiot belligerant, we sometimes have no choice but to fight and kill, to preserve our own freedom of choice and negotiation. Sadly, we often have to deal with individuals or groups so fixed on having their own way exclusively that it is impossible to discuss or negotiate anything; and even more sadly, we ourselves sometimes take that position. Peace at all costs can be a road to greater disaster - but the Iraq war demonstrates the disaster of the cowboy way.

We don't have to. It's not true that we have to. Unfortunately, education is the great liberator and the people in most countries are not educated. In fact, for example, just like the Catholics of the Middle Ages, many muslims are clueless as to what the Koran even reads. They are clueless because they can't read and have to go by whatever their leader says it says. John Paul stopped that during the 1960's for the Catholics. Who is going to stop that for the Muslims and what about the Communists and how they are brainwashing their children? We have to be educated. It is the great liberalizer, yet liberated we aren't. In fact, look at AMerica and how many people are unable to read and would rather just stop attending school and become drains on society. Schools have become violent places because many students don't want to have to learn after elementary school. Why make them? Why not let them have a trade and then if they so desire to go back to school later, let them. Will we go backwards? I don't think so. We'll have more people out there who want to learn because we won't allow them to come to school unless they care and they can't have a job or money from the government unless they learn a trade or will do even the smallest job for help. That's how we get what we want. We have to educate over and again and again.

Because we are animals...Primitive beings intent on surviving, and whenever possible, to succeed with each individual person's exclusive wants, not caring about others unless it seems convenient. That's part of the nature of the human soul.

Hey John Lennon -
Imagine giving peace a chance. I dunno. Too many ideas in the world. It is like this site, but much larger with much more at stake. If I told you I would not beat you up, would you give me your house and your paycheck and trust me with your children even if we grew up differently and you heard good things about me but dont really know me? If I forced this, would you fight me? We dont fight for peace, we fight based on our different concepts of what is right and wrong... to many ideas.

That's an excellent question. And if we new we would have peace. No one wants to work together.. one wants this the other wants that. There isnt a solution.

To me, it just show another example of evolution and how some people are lagging behind others in their mental and spiritual development.

its because no one wants to give something up for a compromise...and because killing someone is easier than actually convincing someone to something without have to listen to them...
