I stayed there in 2002 when the hotel was relatively new. The rate was reasonable, it's a more modern hotel compared to the other resorts in the island. Back then the hotel was clean, but the room was pretty small. Bathroom space was also limited. The advantage is it's right there in front of the Kuta beach, and next to the Hard Rock Cafe for the nightlife.
If you're looking for luxury, then don't stay there, but if you're looking for a reasonable hotel with great access, then this is it.

I don't know this particular hotel, but generally the Mecure group is a clean and tidy chain.
If you want to compare rooms in other hotels in Kuta have a look through this website directory whereyou can sort by star rating price and location - it might be useful.
Good luck with your planning.

Well here's a little tip if you want to be adventurous in your hotel room:
- Hire a local who knows really well the surrounding area. Ask the local for a good hotel - not the big chain group hotels
When I went there I hired a local to find a good hotel for me :) - guess what ??? The local gave me a really good hotel under an EXTREMELY cheap price.
The hotel used to be a Royal home for Bali's Royals - It was amazingly beautiful and you will save yourself a lot of money because those big chain hotels are charging the international tourists more.
