what are u doing when u change m+P=25 to 25-p=m?

Solving for m, or rearranging.
You're not simplifying because the problem has as many terms as it did before.

When you are changing from m + p = 25 to 25 - p = m, you are setting up the equation to solve for m.

P.S. This is not a LITERAL EQUATION. Literal equations have ONLY LETTERS. You have a LINEAR EQUATION, which has numbers and letters.

u use the addition property of equality
m+p=25
m+p-p=25-p you subtract p to both side to maintain equilibrium then simplify
m=25-p simpliest form
