Which hurts worse? Getting a shot in the arm or hip/butt area...?

I am getting that Gardasil shot and you have to get three total. I got one and it hurt. They asked me if next would I like to get in in the hip area. I said that I would think about it. Soooo... here I am.

I actually got a Gardasil shot today - my first one. They put it in my arm - im my muscle. They said that it had to go in the muscle and that they had to make sure that it went in the muscle - it hurt like hell! they didnt ask me about taking it in the hip/butt area though - im guessing because there is no muscle there. If i had the option, i would choose the hip/butt area because it hurts less - mostly fat there. But you should ask your doc about that - why arent they making you take it in the muscle?

oo my mom's a nurse and she's given pleeeennnnty or shots so here's a trick, when you get a shot in your arm, put your hand on your hip with your thumb pointing towards your bellybutton and the rest of your fingers towards your backside! this way you can't make a muscle and that just makes it hurt worse. good luck=]
