He wears baggy jeans but somehow the crotch area is pretty tight. We have a relaxed dress code at work and no one has said anything to him but a couple of women in the office noticed it. I was wondering if I should say something to him?

You should definitely not say anything to him if you are a coworker. I used to be in HR for an entertainment studio; we dealt with stuff like this (and much, much worse) all the time. It's why HR is there, so if your company has an HR department or manager, have a talk with them about the distraction your coworker's package is providing. They can have a discreet conversation with him without ever mentioning who has brought it to their attention, and hopefully he'll choose pants that don't cause his light to shine so brightly.

If you don't have anyone to specifically handle HR for your company, talk with your supervisor, who can handle it from there.

To be fair, he's already wearing baggy jeans, so maybe his package just can't be restrained by mortal pants :)

I'm guessing that you don't interact directly with customers in your line of work.

However, I'm also guessing that however relaxed a dress code, there's probably a line that he's crossing.

Probably the first question you should ask yourself.. when you say "distracting," do you mean that to say that interferes with work or otherwise hinders your ability to do your job?

Next, are the other women who have noticed it concerned? Is it negatively impacting them?

If it does need to be addressed, the question becomes whether or not you should be the one to address it with the co-worker. If you're on friendly terms with him and think that it can be discussed casually, you might attempt to mention it quietly and discretely.

If the thought of bringing up the issue with the coworker makes you even the slightest bit uncomfortable, then it is an issue for your Human Resources manager to handle. If it's negatively impacting your work environment, your corporation has a duty to address the situation.

Best of luck!

Like WHAT? "Packing peanuts are SO underrated??" I mean, what would you say? Are you OFFENDED or turned on? If he's fishing for a comment, you are just going to make his day. Just divert your eyes. You might be walking a sexual harrassment type of line, from one side or another. We need more details. Or not.

And exactly why are you focusing on his "package"?? If it violates the dress code then he will be reminded. It's up to the boss to enforce the dress code. You could mention it to whoever ( if not your boss ) is in charge

Lol...fantastic. Sounds like a great story line for a seinfeld episode.

You should probably break it to him gently. Pull him aside and tell him. He'll appreciate that you were brave enough to tell the truth. Good luck!

Um no, it's not hurting you! It may be distracting but get over it! Don't make him self concious just because you can't stop checking him out!!
