I started shaving my head recently (10 days). After I shave, it burns for 2-3 hours and itches the rest of the day. Why ?

Should I use after shave or lotion or something ?

As someone stated your head its use to being Shaved... Make sure you're using a quality razor and a good shaving cream or powder... also when you shave anything your stripping away skin cells, be sure to use a good moisturizer. Be sure that your pores are open don't shave a cold face use a warm towel to open the pores up, it loosens the hairs to be shaven. Ask a solon/barber/or hair care store to recommend products specific to the itching and burning. Or just use a little Vaseline to kill the itch if you can take the burn.

I say that you dont wory about the shaving cream stuff because chances are that it is just the area you are shaving isnt used to it. I have a barber once do a full face shave on me and to make it to wher eit wouldnt itch and so that i wouldnt get rasor purn he got some shaving cream and warmed it up. then he put a Realy warm rag over my face to open my poors then took it off and applyed the warmed schave cream then the warm rag againn. then he shaved me and when i was done he put some uncented aftershave on. i think for the last one lotion will work also just depends on what you like.

You must be intolerant of the soap/shaving creme you are using........... Go buy some goats milk soap, unscented, chemical free, no more itchniess........ To fix the problem in the meantime put 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar in a basin full of warm water. Simply get a face washer and sponge your entire head with it. Instant relief !!

PEACE
