I assume you mean 10^5 / 10^3 (ten to the 5th power divided by ten to thr 3rd power). The answer is 10^2 (subtract the exponent of the denominator from the exponent of the numerator).

just subtract exponents
ex: x^3/x^6= 1/x^3 or x^-3

if same base, then subtract the exponents

ex:

x^2/x = x^(2-1) = x
