My first job was at the local library - I shelved books, made sure they were sorted, and helped patrons find them. I was seventeen when I first got it, and I'm 23 now - and still work there.

Fast Food or a resturant offers flexible hours and a fun social scene. My first job at 16 was Burger King, had some good times there but now i pay bills and have moved on to bigger things. Good Luck

That depends. Are you looking for a job just for money? Or for socialization? Or to start developing skills that may help you in a career later on?

My first job was in a movie store in a mall and I loved it. I had a lot of friends who worked in the mall, and it was a fun place to work. I had friends, however, who were dead-set on being veternarians or dentists, etc. when they "grew up" so they got part-time after school jobs working in vets' and dentists' offices, doing even odd jobs.

If you really don't care, you'll probably have a great deal of luck working retail or in a restaurant. They seem to accommodate most teens.

Good luck!

My first job was cashiering at a convenience store. Pretty easy.

Or hit the local mall. Lots of kids work and hang out there.

You can make good money waiting tables but if the restaurant serves liquor you won't be able to be a server till you're 21.

Get something with public contact and develop your communication skills. If there is something you like doing as a hobby, maybe you can get a job using your knowledge. You could learn some vocational skills such as construction of some type maybe as an apprentice. It never hurts to know how to work with your hands, creating nice things, or fixing others. Make it meaningful at least.

i started in a hotel, as a front desk agent. they say if you can do front desk at a hotel (just as a stuard in an airplaine), you can do pretty much any job. once you get that on your resume, more places will be willing to hire you, because it shows you can multi-task, put up with people's crap and be friendly. there is a difference between just saying it on the resume and proving it with a job. it pays more than min. wage, so that should help as well. lots of hotels are looking for part time help. :) good luck!

Carhop at sonic. you make minimum wage plus tips. oh wait, you gotta be 17 to work there. 16 is tough. you might be limited to side jobs. mowing people's grass and washing their cars. You might be able to find a manual labor job in the summer. My first job was at my uncles turtle farm in the summer.ha. when I was 17 I went to sonic.
