and how would the IRS track my income ? :)

I guess, but the IRS tracks you by your SS# for earnings. Then they will check to see if your name matches.

sounds like a question my husband would ask

he says...whether you change your name legally or not-your social securtiy number would still be the same--so the answer to your question---is yes--they will be able to track your income
