In most cases, intakes do not cause overheating. There must be something else wrong:
Dirt or other restrictions in the coolant system.
Rad fan problem.
Clogged catalytic converter or exhaust system.
Low coolant level.

there became a bad batch of all plastic intake manifolds on a great variety of four.6 cammers the place the 1st actual runner might crack between the 1st & the 2nd runner. the 1st runner is a coolant jumper from one head to the different. The replace manifold has a metallic first runner, & is attainable at maximum automobile components shops.

i own a shop, and i have seen a few of them cause one to overheat a few times before, they have inlet ports on them ,and some use a smaller gasket on one end and if the intake port for the coolant gets stopped up it shuts down the flow of coolant through the engine, and will make them over heat.its pretty rare that you see one do this, but it can happen,to any of them, good luck,i hope this help,s.

no I don't think so, I have never heard of that one, the only way that could happen is if the intake manifold gasket is leaking around the water jackets and the water would be going into your oil and you would have to keep refilling your radiator because of this and it might run warm due to low radiator fluid.
