Turn your lighter upside down and there answer is right there! MADE IN CHINA!!!!!!

It is a scam to get you to pay more for what is really just another disposable lighter, in my experience the only refillable lighters that are going to work are the Zippos and that type of refillable lighter, but you won't find them for five bucks at the convience store.
