you have read my mind!
what happened to "charity begins at home"?
i have travelled, and these people are poor, but also very lazy!
i know I will cause offence, but they are!
You show them something and they are keen to start with, but get peed off!
how many time do we have to show them how to maintain the water pump?

bamba 982.........40%? Surely we should help our own before others?
Do you not think money needs to be spent in this country on our own before thinking of dishing it out to the "chiefs" of these poor villages in the remote area of Africa!

prince frigging henry..........say wot you have to say on Y!A not thro emails.and mind your language!

I agree with you, 100%! Charity does begin at home. The United Kingdom as a whole is a very generous giver of aid.The Government (Brown) gives millions to Africa, but I do think that our own children/people do sometimes get forgotten.I'm a great supporter of Children In Need, purely because ALL the money raised goes to charities in THIS country.!!! Of course we should help others in need, but lets not forget, there are many people here, in Britain, that need help as well!!!!

welshchics' right..Africa has swallowed TRILLIONS of pounds over the past 4 decades, but they still resolutely refuse to move into the 21st century. In the Gambia ,the president has banned all aids drugs, preferring to use his own blend of HERBS,and a prayer !the president of south Africa, the most advanced, supposedly, last year attended an aids conference with beetroot and lemon juice!declaring "HIV does not lead to aids"live aid was 22 years ago, what happened to all the irrigation, wells, schools set up then?until these people can become monogamous and 'make do' with just the one wife, and 2 kids instead of 12,they are always going to be hungry, and dying of aids.its not like we haven't been telling them for the past 25 years !!but Africans prefer 'african'medecine and culture, and to tell them different is racist.the president of Gambia threw out a UN official for questioning his powers of healing this week.so i do think look after our own first.pensioners, women with cancer who cant get the necessary drugs, more youth club-type activities(they've all shut years ago round here)for starters.
