If i start with 2 and count by 3's until I reach 499, i will get: 2,5,8,11, ...., 499 where 2 is the first number, 5 is the second number, 8 is the third number and so forth. If 499 is the Nth number, what is the value of N?

#1. The amount of money each paid was a factor of 121, when measured in cents -- i.e., 1 cent, 11 cents, or $1.21.

The only way to do that with 3 coins is two nickels and a dime.

So 11 members contributed 2 nickels each.

You take it from there. :)

#2. X = # of passes, Y = # of fails. X = 7Y. .25 * X - .50 * Y = 3.75. That latter equation looks yucky; let's multiply both sides by 4. X - 2Y = 15. Better. But that means 7Y - 2Y = 15. So Y = 3.

You take it from there. And check the answer. :)

#3. The general formula for the Nth value has to be something like 2 + 3N or 2 + 3 (N-1) = 3N -1. Figure out the exact formula by looking at a couple of early examples, set it equal to 499, and solve for N.

You'll be done! :)

that is no longer 40x40, pay attention. An equilateral triangle has a base of 40ft, however the top isn't 40ft. via fact the attitude of the triangle is 60 tiers, the top is 20 (0.5 the facet length) instances the sq. root of three. for that reason, the section is a million/2 instances 40 instances 20 instances sq. root of three=692.80 two squarefeet.
