I find it very difficult to stop suddenly when dribbling . I don't know how to move my legs and I am always afraid of travelling.

Here is the necessary footwork, assuming that you are right-handed. When you are dribbling right-handed, your footwork is left-right-jump. When you are going to your left hand, go right-left-jump. Practice it with a ball, but without shooting, concentrating on jumping up straight.

Use a two foot jump stop. Practice, without the ball first, running full speed, jumping off the dribblewithout taking any steps and then landing without shifting position. Bend your knees and then explode up. If that's too difficult for you, try lean in when you shoot off of a pull-up, or just float in the air when you shoot. Don't be afraid to travel, if you're just learning.

pulling up and jump shooting shouldnt be too hard. u jump, but ud probably have to have a killer jump shot and be able to shoot fading shots cuz if ur running at full speed, u probably cant stop on a dime and have to shoot it off a curl like rip hamilton from the pistons. or else learn to switch direction fast so u can avoid the defender and have a less contested jumpshot.

When you drive to the basket, you must anticipate when to pull up, say to 8 ft. for example. When you decide to pull up, take one extra dribble to square up your feet. When you do pull up. jump stop and go straight up with your regular jump shot.
