Is this a true phenomena or is it just hype?, have you, yourself been affected by it.. or know of some one who was affected by a situation like this? Are you a "straight" black guy who enjoys sex with men, but insists your straight!?

it is a true phenomena and its also an unfortunate one but then again if everyone who was gay were to come out, you'd be shocked at the numbers of white men or indian men or hispanic men or...who are on the DL. i know a gay prostitute and he fills me in on guys hiring when they travel or when their wives are away.

that is how most of todays aids is issued out by these men on the DL not telling these females they are with that they also sleep with men and are not protecting themselves putting us in danger. this is how things go they stay on the DL b/c they don't want people to look at them funny but i rather have a gay friend than a friend with HIV or AIDS so yes i wish these men would tell these woman how it really is and then maybe things would be better

I doubt that you will get a "straight" answer to this question. Yes, it is real, have known many guys on the DL. It is sad that the black culture is so homophobic that black men must hide behind a wall of lies...very sad.
