Better than tobacco. Awesome sedative. Relaxes the nerves. It's not going to stop selling so, forget it. And I'll keep on voting for it every time the question arises. Face it!! Those who cannot control the habit, oh well, it sucks to be you. Maryjane Rules!!! It will continue to do so until this planet explodes. If this burns the eyes of young viewers well, they shouldn't be reading this. Instead, maybe you should be asking the world about liqueur and beer. The tragedies due to alcohol are phenomenal compared to weed. In fact, to me, There is no comparison. DUIs' happen every minute of every day and takes the lives of many. It's not often that one hears weed had a contributing factor to automobile accidents. What you do hear about is The Raid On Drugs. What is beer and liqueur if it's not a Drug? Don't get me started. For those who haven't smoked weed, don't know and for those who quit, good for you. And the only person that can change me is me. I get along fine with or without it. Can an alcoholic say that ?
Lets' not get A.A. wrapped up in this. These are people helping themselves. Bars, Lounges and the like that serve alcohol need to be banned. We have a DRY TOWN in one part of NY that doesn't even sell alcohol of any kind, due to a DUI Hit and run. I don't even want to hear about what happens to an individal on weed.THERE IS NO COMPARISON...

As long as there are rules about not driving stoned or working under the influence I say carry on. It makes no difference to me and if people want to smoke it without causing anyone else problems I say fair enough. It's just whether people will be responsible when smoking it which is the problem. If you take the amount of deaths due to drunk driving it proves that some morons will always ruin it for everyone else.

I first used cannabis in 1962, and have used it, on and off, ever since. Lately, my consumption is probably less than it has ever been, but I still enjoy it.
I have never known, in 45 years, anybody of my associates become addicted, but I don't say it can't happen.
I don't consider myself to be at all addicted. If it's available, and the circumstances are right, then I will have some. I do not at all, in any sense, miss it otherwise, but just enjoy it when the time feels right.
And I do enjoy it.

Well I have been a regular user for over 30 years. I have quit many times over the years for various reasons such as pregnancy and illness. I have never experienced any problem with stopping. As fpr using harder drugs the only way marijuana leads to harder drugs is that you have to go to a drug dealer to get it-drug dealers then offer the harder things also. If marijuana were legal there would be no one offering the hard stuff to the buyers.

Neil M: Plz site your sources for someone stabbing someone because of marijuana.

Legalise, educate, regulate and tax!
That would solve a lot of problems.
Nobody, but nobody, is going to make me give up my pleasure.
And by the way, in spite of what the so-called 'experts' say, it is NOT addictive.
I have a problem with 'hard drugs' though.
But the only solution there is also: Legalise, EDUCATE, regulate and tax!

People who say it is addictive use it as a 'crutch' or an 'excuse'. They have much bigger problems, believe me!

It should be legalized and treated like alcohol. Alcohol is legal and not everyone drinks. And to people who say things like, I don't want a surgeon to be high and operating, well I don't want a drunk surgeon either. You can't drink in public so why do you think that you'd be able to do things differently if marijuana was legal. As I said, it should be treated like alcohol. You'd need to be 21 to buy it(with ID). Think about it.

my husband is diabetic and over the years has lost any compulsion to eat he has no appetite only when he takes a smoke does he feel hunger so i think it should be legal .and at any rate i think in the interest of the public the police could be put to better use catching the bigger dealers of heroin and such you know the stuff that CAN actually kill you and really mess your life

An "H". It's spelled with an "H", like "marihuana". That is the correct spelling. The "J" was put in it's place by William Randolph Hearst during the first reefer madness of the 1930's to confuse Americans. "Marijuana" is the Mexican slang spelling and he used it in his newspaper headlines to fuel racist feelings in people and to help push for its criminalization.

Because as we all know:

Only dirty, lazy Mexicans smoke "Mer-a-ju-wana"...
