Because a Harley is a status symbol.
Too bad they are such crap.....
I know, because we make parts for Harley, and they accept the most messed up out-of-spec components of any manufacturer I've ever seen!
("The line is down, so yes--SHIP us those cracked parts to be used in engine assemblies.")
For the record I don't make the parts. I INSPECT them, then I inform my superiors that they are bad, whereupon the Harley "quality" department says to ship them anyway.

Why do sports fans put decals of their favorite ball team in their car window?
Why do people put those awful "I Love N.Y." bumper stickers on their cars?
Why does anyone do this? Because people like to make a statement about what is important and meaningful in their lives. So why single out the Harley rider?

Because the Harley sticker makes it just a little easier to pick up your woman.

Buy one and you will understand. It is a pride thing. Sure, Harleys may be crude, but that is the charm. They are pure and raw. There is nothing else like them. Goddammit, you are getting me anxious to ride.

I don't have one on the car. Or either of my trucks.
Why do people wear clothing with big brand names across the front? Maybe they like to advertise for free.
I like the Ferrari comparison, even if mine rides like a truck (on purpose, I love my old trucks).

The unfortunate truth is that at least half of them don't even own one!(this is even more true of T-shirts). Even worse is the fact that now harley is now geared towards mass marketing it's logo more than anything else. It's a status symbol. They "sold their collective soul" long ago when they dropped the shovel-head for the EVO. and as for that v-rod,it's volkswagon(OOPS! Porche) powered!

proud group of people. Hey COPE-ACET do you think if you focused on making good parts (and in spec) instead of just collecting a paycheck you, yourself could make Harley better than they aleready are.

Using a Ferrari bumpersticker would be gauche. It's more seemly to put the keys to your Plymouth on a tasteful Ferrari key fob.

Most of those goobers are wannabes. They have a sticker, and a shirt and that's it.
