The only music i have on my laptop is what I got from cds so I want some safe websites to download music.

By "safe" do you mean free of mal-ware or legal? There are none that are legal if you don't pay for the music. That's how artists earn their living and those who rip off music are stealing from them. The music industry hauls hundreds of such people into court every year, and they end up paying for what they stold plus fines. The rip off artists also pay when they get a virus or other mal-ware in their computer.

Mediafire, Rapidshare. Usually if you just google the name of what you want (say, an album) and just add .zip or .rar at the end. For songs, try .mp3. A mediafire link is sure to show up.

eMusic.com. They sell MP3s of indie music with no DRM. If you don't mind DRM and have an iPod, of course you could use iTunes Music Store.
