They are actual names, Amari is african/american, it means given by god.Kymari is actually spelt Camari/kamari but thought id change it a bit so it could be kai/kye for short but is said more or less the same.

Bear in mind i live in london, they have a lot more unusual names than this, so i dont think teasing etc will be much of a problem-i have thought about this.

I have seen Amari before but only for a girl. If you like Kye, I have also heard of Kyler or even just Kyle. A bit similar is Amir or Akil. They sound a bit more masculine to me.

Kymari sounds like Chimera, which was a mythical monster, so maybe not so good as a name! Amari just makes me think of Georgio Armarni, and as many others has said both sound a little feminine. Its very hard choosing names as its a decision that will affect them throughout their lives. Kye or Kai is definitely a boys name though, so why not just go will that, the advantage of an already short name is that no one can really change it!

If you live in Africa those are fine names. Otherwise you are basically choosing freakish names from another culture. Names like Ahmed, Mohammad, Tariq, Boris, Sanjiv, Nikolai, Fydor, or Takeshi are all pretty acceptable names in Britain in this day and age but those two particular names are so ethnic as to stand out in a very diverse crowd.
Kymari sounds pretty much like a name for fried squid. When written Amari looks like the name of a fashion house, indeed so much so people will actually think the boy is called Armani and you have spelt it wrongly.
Also both names sound feminine in the context of English names. Names ending in "ie", "y", "ee", or "i" sounds are almost universally women's names in Britain. They seem effete and foppish.
They are also very unusual names to the point of being basically the equivalent of calling the child "Ethnic-name-boy" or "Pretentious-name-boy".
To be honest if I had been given one of those names for one thing I would have recieved several beatings at school for having the wierdest name in school by a significant margin. Secondly I would always and without exception use a nickname or contraction of my name instead of my full given name. Thirdly I would probably change my name upon reaching adulthood.

Without wanting to sound cruel these are amongst the most outlandish names you could choose for a child living in the UK and unless you have a VERY important cultural or religious reason for chosing these names then I would avoid them like a fat man avoids exercise.

You should choose whichever name you like the best.
People will always have differing opnions and will be quick to judge if they don't have similar views/tastes.
In this day and age people are naming their children after all sorts of things.. (Apple?!)
Each generation thinks that the names that were acceptable in thier time are the only ones that should be used. (If my Nan had her way everyone would be called Mary, Elizabeth, James or John!)
People grow into their names and will always suit it because it's theirs! Needless to say when I decided on Alba for my daughter friends and family disapproved and I had many jibes about cheap electronics etc.(I chose it as it's a name from my all time favourite book, 'the time travelers wife')
Now she is here I have no comments about it and everyone says how much she suits it!

I love Amari, matter in fact my God Sister's lil cuz's name is Jamari!!! But I'm think that his middle name should be something very simple, cause u wouldn't want his middle name to over power the first name. Lee, Dave, John, Sean, or Chris, would be simple but cute.

OH YEA, i kno this has nothin to do wit the question, but WATCH AMERICAN IDOL & VOTE 4 STEPHANIE EDWARDS!!! She's my bestfriend's sister and has an incredible voice, some say she sounds a lil like Beyonce'!!!

I live Uhmaree and I actually like Khamari<<< pronounced kha-mar-ee, rather than kye-mari. Kye-Mari doesnt really flow in my mind! I like the idea though. Its so much better to be different and unique. Everybody name is sara, bob, john, etc. Its so much better to come up with something more unique and diff. Good luck! How is it in LONDON?!

I had a girl at school called Kumari and her brother was Kumar, so to me Kymari sounds rather feminine. But then again so does Amari.
