-They are dangerous to kids

Then perhaps parents should exercise some of their parental authority and not let little Jimmy play with a piece of metal that burns at 2500+ degrees (that's a sparkler, BTW).

The real harm in this one comes from idiots with fireworks acting like... well... idiots.

-They harm the environment

Let me guess - perchlorate, yes? We suffer from perchlorate contamination of the water table because of water purification facilities that use chlorine to sanitize things. Chlorine... perCHLORate. See the connection? Our need for clean water is contaminating the environment far more than fireworks.

Fireworks burn up during use. Nothing's left but ash and whatever non-flammable bits may have been used in their construction.

-The make lots of noise

That's part of the joy of using them. Of course, if you live in crowded cookie-cutter-condo neighborhoods then this becomes more of a factor. But common courtesy and common sense should play a part - don't fire off a skyrocket with a titanium salute when a bottle rocket is less likely to irritate the neighbors.

-Theyre a waste of money

Says you. I tend to think that bungee jumping and most extreme sports are wastes of money. But if people enjoy them, and it's their money that they're spendind, then they can do what the want.

Something else you failed to mention - banning fireworks will force people to get their fireworks from shady dealers and out of the backs of cars. No safety inspections. No guarantee of quality. Nothing to ensure that something that's supposed to act like a roman candle won't instead act like a ground salute, or that an illicit m-80 won't blow early and mangle someone (not that m-80s are legal now anyways, but you get the idea).

Fireworks should *not* be banned in my opinion.

not only are they dangerous to kids, but also to adults. for example, i live in a place where fireworks are legal in the few days before the 4th of July. well last year my family was parked in our car going to see the fireworks that the city lit and there were some adults lighting some in the middle of the street. they shot them right above a bunch of houses and i could see the hot embers falling on the houses. i have heard of several incidents where the embers of fireworks fell from the sky and burnt people.

A petition, organised with the aid of the RSPCA became exceeded in to #10 approximately 3 years in the past. lots of of animal fans with their canines took a boat with large anti-firework banners on the climate, up the Thames, to Westminster the place we exceeded in a extensive petition to the PM. This resulted in small differences interior the regulation ie. fireworks for the typical public could be no louder than 120decibels, (some vehicle door slamming). regrettably a loophole has looked in that individuals of the typical public can purchase demonstrate variety fireworks which at the instant are not lined with the aid of this regulation. i got here upon the burnt out shell of one of those close to to my residing house and regarded it up on the internet. that is description says all of it, "35 shot noisemaker which places even a military shell to shame". Then there is the 'firework season'. "From January 1st 2005. till a particular licence has been granted (*) with the aid of the interior of sight authority merchandising sessions for outlets would be limited as follows: October fifteenth - December 10th inc, December twenty 6th - December thirty first, 7 days earlier Diwali, 7 days earlier chinese language New year" Why does it is going to be so long? Our animals ought to rather lots handle a pair of wierd nights of fireworks yet we've had them each night via fact that early October, different than final night while it became too moist and windy. you should do as I did and write on your MP. Get your human beings to place in writing, your neighbours, each physique you could think of of. it rather is one among my puppy, (excuse the pun) hates and that i'm continually badgering officers approximately it as quickly as I get the prospect.
