they should both be in bed by 8pm, my son is now 19 months since he was 5 1/2 months old he sleeps from 7pm to 7am a full 12 hours and 2 naps a day. you have to "train" them Im not trying to make our children seem like pets but with anything in life consistency and routine make a moms life much easier!

Depends on what time he generally wakes up. Go for about 11 or 12 hours of sleep at night and about 2 hours during the day.

Mine goes to bed at 8:00pm every night.

She gets her bath at 7, bottle at 7:30 and is taken up to bed awake every night at 8:00. She knows it is bedtime and seems to really want to go to bed. She had a fisher price aquarium that plays soft music/lights and a stuffed bunny that she only gets at night. as long as she has those things, she goes right in her crib and does not make so much as a peep. She has been doing this for as long as I can remember. But I have had them same bedtime routine since forever too.

They should both be sleeping by 7 or 8 PM. If they will not sleep at this time, be sure to keep them from napping in the daytime. Get them plenty of fresh air and exercise in the daytime, feed them plenty in the daytime. Just give them a little milk near bedtime. You have to do the same routine every day--at least until they get used to sleeping early.

Are you talking about a human or a pet?

If it is a human, as an experienced parent I would say, just get a routine going and stick to it.

As a pet owner I would say

There are lots of times when you should put your 10 month old "baby" to bed.

When it get hits by a car and you KNOW it is imminent.
When it gets bit by the rabid raccoon out in the back 40.
When it attacks YOUR 10 MONTH OLD BABY!

just a few "times"

my children are about the same age difference as yours and they have been on the same bedtime schedule since birth 8:00 and they are fine with it, in fact they always say is it bedtime yet mommy they are so use to it. My suggestion is pick a time and try to stick with it every night.

Mine at 815pm, or 830pm and every night in a routine! A routine is important, especially on sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then they get to where they automatically know it is bed time at that time and do not fight it! You may have trouble for a week or two, but keep the same early bedtime!
