no, I don't lie, not on any moral grounds, but because for one thing I'm lazy, for another, my truths about things which might be lied about could help someone else, where if you lie, they may think they are alone...
and finally, because I don't feel the need - if someone doesn't like the truth, they can go screw themselves, lol!

I've always had a policy of trying never to lie. But the work I did in the military didn't allow me to tell the truth ie: where I'd been or what I'd been doing. The people closest to me (wife, etc) knew enough just not to ask. My bag was always packed and my "special instructions" to them were kept in the safe. Just in case.

Yes-to get people to stop bothering me, for example if my mom asks if I ate breakfast before going to school, I'll lie and say yes so that I don't have to listen to her stupid lecture on a balanced diet.

I lie when sales people call, I tell them that Mike doesn't live here anymore, or that my wife doesn't live here anymore. I tell girl scouts that I can't eat cookies. "no officer, I didn't know I was speeding". I tell my doctor that I'm watching my diet. Things like that.
