my ipod will not work. last time i used it, i put on the hold button. now, when i try to switch the button back, it only goes about 3/4 of the way back and won't go any further. therefore, my ipod wont work. i think something might've gotten stuck in the little indention where the hold button ahould finish sliding. anyone know a way to clean it out or to move it all the way so my ipod will work again???

If you can't see something lodged there but you're positive that's the problem, bring it to an Apple store. Otherwise, try to charge it, see if that helps. Toggle the hold button back and forth a few times, then press and hold the Menu and Play buttons to reset the iPod. Then try to turn it on.

if something did get stuck in there you could probably use a needle or something like that to try to fish it out. However i really do not recommend this at all since you may break it even further, i would take it to an apple store or wherever you got it and ask them.

Also before you do, plug it in your computer first and if you already haven't done so, transfer all your files and songs into your computer or to an external hard drive so in case it breaks or they can fix it without deleting all your stuff you can still have them saved. if you don't know how to transfer your songs to your computer you have to:

go to my computers, your ipod, go to the fold options, then the tab view, and check "show hidden files and folders", then just click and drag all your songs

If you have some of the "canned" air that you clean keyboards with you might try blowing it out to see if that dislodges anything that may be stuck in there.
