It's not the toy.. Its the amount of time that you spend with them. Household items can become great learning tools when used with direction. Ex. How many jelly beans will it take to fill the coffee cup etc.. Or.. get a childrens dictionary.. Sing a song like the wheels on the bus. Open the dictionary and point to a word. Ask what that item does... and sing it...

permitting your newborn to journey his environment is the final concern you're able to do. Babyproof now! hide the television distant, digicam, and cellular telephone, in the different case funds in the substitute value of each. verify there are not any sharp, small, or electric powered products around. work together including your newborn. He might enjoy music, yet will maximum in all hazard forget approximately relating to the television. Get the e book "a thank you to instruct your infant to examine." you will additionally desire poster board (maximum inexpensive at place of work max/depot) and a handful of huge purple markers. As for paying for toys, don't be concerned. provide him a field. whilst he gets to be some year previous, plastic blocks, and a lot of of the baby Einstein toys (something that has buttons, lights fixtures up, and makes noise) are reliable. whilst he gets waiting to stroll, something he can push to get around would be very functional for him.

You should have been thinking about that BEFORE you spent money on toys LOL. Anything from the Leapfrog company promotes learning for both the toddler and the kindergartner.

I would stay away from electronic toys like Leapfrog. Did not work well for my son. He got so distracted with noise/music and light from this toy. I have 5.5 and 3.5 their favorite games are old-fashioned developmental board games or animal/numbers dominoes game and they both like puzzles. Recently we have discovered chunky wooden puzzles… easy, fun and highly educational. They come even with alphabet or numbers. Check this site out: http://www.1888Toys.com Do not go if you are looking for electronic toys, this one has only classic toys

Puzzles work. Building blocks. Lincoln logs. Toys that cause interaction. Stay away from video games as long as you're able to do so.
