Good question. Maybe but I don't think so.I definitely want to see more female leaders but, I don't think women have some innate ability that makes them more diplomatic or gentle. Most of George W's supporters are women especially when he sent the US to war. It's way more socially acceptable, even encouraged, for a woman to be violent. Violent psychopaths like John Gotti get loads of fan mail from power hungry women.
I don't like it when people say men are naturally violent. People are generally cooperative and dis like conflict. There are exceptions to the rule within both sexes.
I hope Hillary Clinton wins the presidency because it would be a step forward for us to have a different kind of president than a while male, but it's not because i hate men or think women can do better.
There are alot of women role models that both sexes admire Rosa Parks, Margret Mead, Hillary Clinton, Erin Brockovich, Emily Dickenson, Hellen Keller, Lauren Hill, Susan B. Anthony, Harriot Tubman, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah, Elenore Roosevelt, Joan of Arc, Anne Frank, Mother Teresa, the list goes on. And there are plenty of male role models too. Such as Gandhi, MLK, etc.

Yes, like Margaret Thatcher!
Now there was a leader............lol
The longest elected Conservative prime minister of Great Britain, she reduced the country to civil war, by closing the coal mines, robbed the people through unfair poll taxes, and took the country to war over the Falkland Islands.
Women running the show, you are having a laugh!

historically there have been a lot of female leaders who have committed their armies to wars etc. but that is because when a woman is leader she has to act like a man to maintain her position of power. now if we had started with a matriarchal world rather than patriarchal it could have been so different. women's nature is not to fight but to understand, yes it may well have resulted in a lot of nagging (thanks the answerer who couldn't help giving a stereotypical answer) but there would have hopefully been a lot less bloodshed over the years. women in power now act more like men then men do. what we need to do is completely restructure our ideas and values for it to truly work!

Britain still went to war under Margaret Thatcher, so your sexist argument that men are all brutal beasts is incorrect.

Or perhaps you're saying that if women ran the world there would be no wars...because they'd nag each other to death!

Women are catching up on the violence front fast enough.

But women do make great leaders, or can. I don't want them to have total control, however, or there will be an instant death penalty if one leaves the seat up in the loo.

I think so, women are not so aggresive and would rather talk than fight. Women are better at talking their way out of conflict and not so territorial, The only thing women would fight for is like a tiger for her cubs i.e children.

Maybe... if Segolene Royal finally becomes the first woman president of France, that would be a good test. I personally hope she wins.

How many female role models are there that both sexes admire?

Women in charge won't work until there is accepted equality not just lip service...
