think of all the fun, exciting, kind, generous, interesting, once-in-a-life-time things you could do!

Because although money allows you to experience more, it does not necessarily mean you appreciate the more important things in life like friendships, love and contentment. money is a great thing to have but like lots of things, it acts acts as a filler for a void that people have in their lives. it can buy lots of things, but cant buy happiness. anyone that says money is more important than love and friendships is deluded, those things are priceless.

It's not all it's cracked up to be. yes you can buy all the things you want, but it gets boring real quick. When all you have to look forward to is shopping, and nothing else, it's sorta depressing. it's fun for about 2 years. I've turned to just buying things for other people because that's a really good feeling. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, you're still human, and money can't buy you happiness. We have real problems, that money can't fix.

I myself have a good amount of money, and I wouldn't say that I'm unhappy, but spending money is the only thing I know how to do when it comes to relieving stress, and anger.

A lot of people have money and no friends or lovers, so they probably are unhappy. Money may be their only friend. I don't know having money isn't all it's cracked up to be. You still worry about things, you still wish for certain things that money can't buy, and having no one to share it with (that's genuine and not using you for it), some people are happy and others are miserable.

Not if you are obsessed with making more of the money, therefore having no time to do any of the above things you mentioned. I know, my boyfriend is like that. he works all week full time and often works in the evening and then goes to work on a saturday as well, im suprised he doesnt work on a sunday. We dont do anything together anymore and whenever I see him he comes home, eats then falls asleep trying to watch something on tv. We don't talk or have sex... Sound fun to you?

You discover people don't like you, they like your money. You discover people don't respect you, they respect your money. You discover you have no friends, your money has friends. When you have done all of the fun, exciting, interesting, once in a life time things, and the kind, generous things don't matter (all people see is what you have and what they didn't get from you)what's left...boredom. No reason to get up in the morning, no reason to get to sleep early (or late for that matter), no reason to work, nothing to save up for, nothing to wait for, no wants, no needs not met. Life is working toward an achievement.

The reason that rich people are often portrayed as unhappy is because people think that a rich person will be happy. The truth is they might have riches but they lack in other areas of their life.No person on this planet can have everything.Everyone wants what they don't have.
Rich people get to do all the things that you think are 'exciting' and eventually get bored. It's not biggie after a while.

I don't have a lot of money, and I'm pretty unhappy about that. But after college, I'll be working and hopefully, the talents I potentially have will come to light and I'll get good deals. Just a plan I'm working on.

Money doesn't bring happiness. If you have a lot of money, and you can do anything, any time you want to, and as often as you want to, you get bored with it.

You can also get into a lot of arguments over money.

Happiness really springs from loving living, being fullfilled. I have contentment and I have a family who loves me. I have my religious beliefs. I spend some time doing things to help other people. I have a happy, fulfilled life.

I think it is because people are always trying to tell us 'the best things in life are free'...and 'money can't buy you happiness' but you're right, it enables you to do more with your life, and be kind and generous, and not have the stress of worrying about money...

Sadly a lot of people with money do not have the sense to enjoy life, they are too worried about loosing their precious money.

I like my life in the middle, not too much, but usually enough. And that includes enough to do some uni things. All not bad at all.

Because true happiness is from God. Thinking about money instead of God and religion causes you to be unhappy. That is True Happiness
