Because in america its not shown quite as much. I personally think it is because of its breaks, it has only to breaks, halftime and at the end of the game, where there are commercials. Commercials means $$$. Americans want $$$, with less commercials theres less $$$$. In american football, there are timeouts, plus quarters and halftime reports, which means commercials which means $$$$4. Baseball, hello? nine innings??? in between is what? yah, commercials!!!! Basketball, they also hav timeouts, quartes and halftime. WHICH MEANS $$$$$$$$$$$. So when you find your self watchin soccer on an american network, you will see how long the halftimes are just to get that little bit of mor $$$. :)

I guess you are not a soccer player.
Soccer may seem unimportant because in America it is not the main sport like football. More Americans would rather watch a football game than a soccer game. But, that doesn't mean that soccer isn't important! SOCCER IS AN AMAZING SPORT!

...to me...

Because in US & Australasia soccer is not part of the sport culture. Soccer is big in Europe and Asia. It's more then just entertainment there, it's part of life. =P
