Hit Control/Alt/Delete at the same time and go into Task Manager.

You can as people have said press ctrl+alt+del and view the task manager - you can however download a program called 'whats running' this will give you a full breakdown of every program, every shared resource, every ip usage etc - its free to use (for non business users) and can be found here :-

this will lead you to task manager where you can view applications or programs currently running in your system

It gives you task manager. in that process tab will show you the running process

ctrl,alt and delete all at the same time should bring up your task manager. this will tell you what you have running and whether it is responding
