Im not sure about how it went but was this quote:
"if everything else is wrong, then what ever is left should be the answer" or something like that
by Sherlock HOlmes?

actually, there are a few variations of that quote.

"When all other contingencies fail, whatever is remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

or

"When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

there's a couple more with various wordings but i think you have the gist of it now. i personally like the first one because that's the one i use to quote Sherlock Holmes all the time.

Yes, Sherlock Holmes said something like, "When you have eliminated the impossible, then whatever is left, however improbable, must be the answer," several times during his career.

Well I have the complete series of Sherlock Holmes but it is so long I haven't managed to finish it, hence I haven't gotten to that quote yet! Sorry!
