Senator Lieberman ran as an independent and was elected as such... why would he need to switch parties again ?

Of course not. Pols have switched parties before. In case you forgot, Lieberman ran as an INDEPENDENT. Israel has nothing to do with this except in the minds of bigots.

Jim Jeffords switched from Republican to Democrat and there is nothing you can do...He as a person won the vote. The constitution does not concern itself with party affiliation. The only recourse you would have is to find him guilty of an impeachable offense.

Wouldn't that be sort of like double jeopardy? The democrats already threw him under the bus once in the primaries for leaning a bit to the right.

Since they re-elected him by such a large margin, it won't happen. He lost his PARTY'S primary to a millionaire named Ned Lamont. where is Ned now? And who really gives a damn what the liberal media wants? They show their socialist colors every night at 6 and 11!

I think you could always pull a "grey davis"... bascially a vote of no-confidence... but it's not easy to do in some states...
