Yes, they need a better goalie. Thomas gets hot on occasion and can carry them for small stretches but struggles more often than not. best guess is nobody in the eastern conference would ship a goalie to them so they need to see who can be had from the west. Manny legace likely is available and has plenty of playoff experience, should have a reasonable pricetag andis a good character guy. Cujo likely is also available and has played fairly well given what he has around him but he would be strictly a part time goaler (which might be a good fit with Thomas). he should be real cheap, probably a 3rd or 4th round draft pick could get him to Boston. There are a couple others but price may keep them from those guys (Khabibulin, Roloson if the Oilers start selling parts). But they really need to make some sort of deal for sure if they hope to grab a playoff spot.

The Bruins have a great nucleus right now and in the next year or two they will be a very good team but I hope they don't break up that nucleus to rent a goalie. My reason for thinking this way is even if they make the playoffs they are young and do not have the experience strength or stamina to win the cup, plus they have one of the biggest goaltending prospects in the world coming to camp next year Tukka Rask who they got in the trade for Andrew Raycroft. My feelings are take the hit this year let the team blossom together for a few years like Buffalo did and then make a few runs at the cup.

The Bruins definatley need a goaltender to make the playoffs. Not sure who would be a good pickup, they might have to wait to the end of the season for free agents

I don't think they can do much better than what they have now on the market. I don't know if someone like Nabokov is much better than Thomas, who is pretty hot right now. Goaltending is at a premium right now. Just look at LA-bringing Sean Burke in??
Alot of teams have 2 decent goalies-like for example Nashville with Vokoun and Mason BUT teams WANT to have 2 good goalies these days. Look at last year-who went to the finals-Edmonton and Carolina I think. They started the play-offs with Roloson and Gerber and in the final it was I think Markannen and Cam Ward. That says it all.

I think the Bruins are doing pretty well as far as goalies go. I have Thomas on my fantasy team, so I've been following him pretty closely. He's been doing quite well lately.

What they don't have, though, is a dependable backup. If Thomas were to get injured, they would be in really deep water.

Thomas is a good goaltender, but needs the support in front of him... i recommend that Boston go out and get 3 GOOD defense and 2 good checking forwards in order to continue

Biron would be the best . Doubtful that Buffalo would deal him . Esche or Nittymaki are likelier to be traded. Phoenix has CuJo. I don't see the Bruins making the playoffs.
