Knowing how far along would help with the answer but if it is persistant you may want to get checked. Most women get ligament pain from the body moving to hold the baby. The pain is closer to your hip and leg that is what it is. Sometimes if you turn too fast or get up too quickly you can pull on that ligament and it will hurt for a couple of days. If I knew a bit more maybe I could help. Maybe you could call the triage nurse. I am in my 2nd pregnancy and had ligament pain on and off that literaly had me drop to my knees. GL

Hi. I am almost 18 weeks pregnant and I am having a sharp pain in my left side that hurts more when I walk and I can even feel it when I touch my side. That sounds muscular to me. I noticed that its been a few days since you posted this question and I was wondering if you had the pain checked out and what you found. I would like to know seeing as I am also experiencing this discomfort.

I am 20 weeks, i had those same pains around 13 to 15 weeks. I was worried too, but I was told it was stomach muscles streching, Cause the next week it would be my left side and visa versa. it went away around 16 weeks. I find that you get weird pains evrywhere being pregnant. try not to worry, just think of all the changes your body is going through, and I'm only half way there............with all that said , you know your body, if its too painful call your doctor.

Same types of things happened to me. One thought that popped into my head is that the appendix is on the right side, so if you get a fever or it gets worse or it really won't go away after a couple of hours, you may want to call a doc.

Call your doctor's answering service or go to the e.r. There is something wrong, those pains should not be there and definitely not get worse with a change in position

It's called a sciatica. All pregnant women get them. If it continues, and you can't bear it, call a docter.
