well yea ram is what the system uses to preload files before being processed by the CPU so the more the better 512 is better than 128 and 1gig(1024mb) is better than 512

well 1gb is pretty much two 512mb ram sticks so yea its kinda like double the power.

and to play games without laggin there are many factors. internet is critical for online gaming. the ram will help it some but it also has to deal with the cpu speed and sometimes if you are playing a big game then your harddrive speed plays a role also so it just all depends

DDR means = Double Data Rate. It's a type of RAM (Random Access Memory - DDR RAM). Its 2nd generation is DDR2 RAM

1Gb (Gigabyte) = 1,024Mb (Megabyte), 1Mb = 1,024Kb (Kilobyte), therefor, K = thousand, M = Million, G = Billion

Now, you asked if 1Gb is more than 512Mb, look at the chart above, 1Gb is twice as much as 512Mb. In computer world, the more memory (ram), the better your computer will run, means the faster.

So, your question "will it improve your game experience w/out lagging? YES!! Definately.

For playing game, I would get at least 2Gb of ram, more is better.

1 gig is equal to 1024 mb
So 1 gig of Ram is double 512 mb

The more RAM memory a computer has, the more programs it can run before it reachs the end of the memory and starts to lag.

1GB = 1024 MB Yes it would help... Normally I say look into upgrading video also but that usually isn't possible on a laptop. Once you install the memory goes into your bios (setup del or f2) and increase the amount of RAM dedicated to video that will help there and now that you and 1Gig you will have more memory to spare.

It's double the memory, a good, fast processor would help, and a awesome fast graphic card would make it fly with games....
