Why does the desktop background options include all "my pictures" files too, my non HP pc and laptop dont

i hate that all my pictures files have been added to the desktop background options coz it makes the list so long , it hasnt happened on my pc and other laptop , just this hp/compaq one and my friend has the same problem

First, it only does that on Windows XP. If there other computers are running different versions of Windows, it will not show them.

Then it shows the picture in the "default" location for storing pictures, which is usually c:\documents and settings\"your id"\My Documents\my pictures. If you store the pictures elsewhere, they will not show on the list.

I love my hp laptop, but it does havea lot of hp stuff i dont use lol good luck.
