I am going on 6 weeks pregnant. At the begining of the week I went to the ER because I was spotting brown blood. The did an ultrasound and saw a gest. sac and a yolk sac, but the doc. said the heartbeat was a little slow and I have bleeding around the placenta. I was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage. I called my doctor the next day and he basically just told me to rest and not have sex, he didn't want to see me or recheck my blood levels. He just said call back if bleeding gets heavy. Well the bleeding didn't get heavy but I am still spotting brown all day, everyday. Not enough I need to wear a pad or anything, but it is always there when I wipe after using the bathroom. I has been going on for four days now. Also my lower back has started to hurt. I was wondering how much longer until I miscarry or has it happened already with just the spotting?

Really, you should check into getting another doctor. If you are concerned and he doesn't have the time to see you, you should consider finding another doctor who has time to care about his patient's concerns. I've had 2 miscarriages, one with a lot of pain and bleeding and one with no pain and no warning. It can be different each time. A blood test will tell if the hormone levels are dropping and you are miscarrying. I definitely feel your anguish, I've been there. Hang in there, I went on to have 3 happy healthy children. Rest and go to the ER if your pain gets worse.

I'm sorry you have to worry like this. I would be calling the doc and requesting hcg level checks. They can tell if this is still a viable pregnancy by doing that. It requires a blood draw 48 hours apart. They need two levels to determine if everything seems ok. More than likely you haven't miscarried. I had 3 miscarriages. One at 8, 6, and 5 weeks. With each I had a lot of bleeding. Heavy red blood clots. You will experience cramping too. So from what you've described I wouldn't think you had one. Take care, thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to tell you this, but it sounds like your body is trying to expel the embryo. I don't like the fact that it has been four days. If you dont see any progress but the end of the weekend, you need to call the doc. since you run the risk of infection.

I know this sounds gross, but you may want to use a strainer when you use the restroom. You will be able to catch anything that is too big to pass thru the holes to make sure the entire contents are expelled. That way you can be educated when the docs asks you questions to see if a D&C is needed.

My sister had a miscarriage about a year and a half ago, around the time Hurricane Rita came through and the doc wanted to give her body time to take care of itself to 1) allow extra space at the hospital for evacuee's a rescues and 2) to keep her from having another D&C. (She had a molar pregnancy prior to that). I was there with her with the baby passed. It will be very small, about the size of a quarter, but it is formed and you can tell it is a baby. My sis says she is glad she was able to see the baby. It helped her emotionally. And she now has a 6 month old daughter.

All the luck in the world to you. Take care of yourself and get the rest you need.

i have had 3 miscarriages and they have all been different but as i recall the first one i had i had the spoting dark brown but then about 3 days turned to heavey bleeding just like a heavy period type but the the dr put you on bed rest so he may think there is a small chance you could carrie it i have seen people spot blood and still carrie the baby so this could be why he isent takeing the quant levels he may be is waiting to see if your body will pass it on its own , i always had heavey periods all my life so if you are a person with light periods you may not bleed as much as a person who bleeds heavey . i would deffinatly call and make an appt to be checked because if you cant pass it you will need a d.n.c where they will clean you out real good i hope i have helped

As long as the spotting is brown, and not bright red and heavy, you should be safe. I had brown spotting with all 3 of my pregnancies. My last pregnancy, I even had a little bright red spotting. I had a sonogram, and they saw a small amount of bleeding in the placenta. They said it would probably just resolve itself. Everything turned out fine for me. Good luck!

It's hard to tell, if you are experiencing back pain now, you may start soon. You really should go back to the doctor.
And no you haven't had a miscarriage yet because you will bleed very heavy and bright red blood, not spotting

My sister had the same problem. Just because you are spotting it doen't mean you are going to miscarry. If you've miscarried in the past, it just your body trying to adjust to this pregnancy. The Dr. told my sister to take it easy for a while, and that she might bleed through out her pregancy. After 12 weeks of pregancy the risk of a miscarry minimizes, but there is nothing that you can really do, wish you the best. Take Care!

AAHHH sweetie...I am not really sure! If you are in pain and your doctor will not see you maybe you should head into the hospital. At this point you need to make sure that you are taking good care of yourself. Seems to me that you are more aware of your body and that is good...you might want to consider going in again...just to be on the safe side.

MY suggestion would be to find a more supportive doctor.
