I am going on 6 weeks pregnant. At the begining of the week I went to the ER because I was spotting brown blood. The did an ultrasound and saw a gest. sac and a yolk sac, but the doc. said the heartbeat was a little slow and I have bleeding around the placenta. I was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage. I called my doctor the next day and he basically just told me to rest and not have sex, he didn't want to see me or recheck my blood levels. He just said call back if bleeding gets heavy. Well the bleeding didn't get heavy but I am still spotting brown all day, everyday. Not enough I need to wear a pad or anything, but it is always there when I wipe after using the bathroom. I has been going on for four days now. Also my lower back has started to hurt. I was wondering how much longer until I miscarry or has it happened already with just the spotting?

Many women bleed and spot during the first trimester and the heartbeat is slow at six weeks...in fact many women cannot even spot the baby let alone the heartbeat at six weeks.

Get a second opinion. You're being diagnosed too quickly and misdiagnosed miscarriages are fairly common.

I talk to women daily who are going through miscarriage scares. Send me an email if you need any reassurance or if you have your levels back. I can give you an idea of how much hope there is.

I'm sorry you have to worry like this. I would be calling the doc and requesting hcg level checks. They can tell if this is still a viable pregnancy by doing that. It requires a blood draw 48 hours apart. They need two levels to determine if everything seems ok. More than likely you haven't miscarried. I had 3 miscarriages. One at 8, 6, and 5 weeks. With each I had a lot of bleeding. Heavy red blood clots. You will experience cramping too. So from what you've described I wouldn't think you had one. Take care, thoughts are with you.

My sister had the same problem. Just because you are spotting it doen't mean you are going to miscarry. If you've miscarried in the past, it just your body trying to adjust to this pregnancy. The Dr. told my sister to take it easy for a while, and that she might bleed through out her pregancy. After 12 weeks of pregancy the risk of a miscarry minimizes, but there is nothing that you can really do, wish you the best. Take Care!

Hi there, sorry to hear about your troubles but if it gives you any hope I had a friend who bleed her entire pregnancy, because she was severly anemic. be more insistant on your dr seeing you. This is your child and your life at risk, if he won't see you, go to the ER then SWITCH DR.

Good luck

If you make it to the three month mark you are pretty sure you won't miscarry. Its not uncommon to spot the first trimester. Try to keep off your feet and rest as much as possible.Good luck.

Put your feet up and change doctors. Positive thinking, my dear.
