Hi, i have a Seagate ST380013S SATA drive that i want to put in a PC running W/98se with a MSI K7 pro (6195) mobo (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=232), with 2 other HD's and a DVD burner. I swap IDE HD's often, but have no exp. with this type.

It appears i need to run in IDE emulation mode, and or need a PCI adapter card as well as cables. If anyone has done this and can advise i would appreciate it. Thanks

The following link should help.

Also this would be an ideal time to get an up to date OS. Get UBUNTU you can dual boot it with Windows 98. There is an excellent forum where users provide help.

if your mother board isnt too old, then you can update the bios and use it like any other, if this cant be done, then only an external hard drive or through some means such as some type of pci card would be neccesary, I don't know any specifics
