Just finished building it, and so i was trying to configure the BIOS, but it keeps on shutting down. I thought it might be overheating, so i took off the stock fan (i have a core 2 duo), replaced the heat paste, reseated the fan, and tried running it again, but it keeps on happening. What could be the problem?

Just finished building it, and so i was trying to configure the BIOS, but it keeps on shutting down. (BECAUSE I just finished building it, there is no possibility of a virus, because i have yet to instal an operating system, much less go on the internet.) I thought it might be overheating, so i took off the stock fan (i have a core 2 duo), replaced the heat paste, reseated the fan, and tried running it again, but it keeps on happening. What could be the problem?

it could be a few things it could be a virus that causes the computer to prompt saying 1 min till shut down, it could be power problems power cord could be faulty, the operating system could be unstable. my advice if you don't know much about computers don't do anything yourself get a technician to take a look at your system. sometimes when you think you fixed it you have just screwed it more.
