why do men....?

Thats just how they are. If thats all that your man is doing give him a big kiss and tell him you love him. He could be strung out on drugs or drinking or beating on you.

It's the hunter thing in them - you know, aim at the target, all that stuff. It's also to do with the male ego which revolves around overt power ("look what I can do with this!") and a love of tools and gadgets. Ignore the claims that it's a control thing because they haven't got any in the home or women have power over them (poor oppressed things) or that their women are technically challenged. Rubbish!

Get one for yourself and then you can have remote control competitions.

Better yet, don't let him know you have one. Stand behind him and when he changes the channel or the sound level, etc, whip yours out and change the channel or whatever.

This will cause confusion and consternation. At which point you can calmly pick up 'his' remote and change the channel or the sound level, which, of course, will stay put.

Do this a few times and he will start handing you the control automatically.

Because we do...you females have this problem called uuhhmm, remote-control-itis yeah see that's whe you guys get the remote and cant put it down...you guys have to check all 300 channels to see whats on....TV...and then after that you finally turn to the preview channel for like five minutes...aaawwhhh...There's only two things Men care about on TV 1. what times the games come on, and 2. When is the next sportscenter showing...So to prevent us form missing our games we need the remote...things will be much more efficient...and we know you guys like to hide the remote right before the games so you can see us go crazy looking for it like a dog chasing his tail.

there is a Gene that all men have and no woman should ever try to take that remote away. God meant for the MAN to run the TV, even if it means going from Commercial to commercial..... we just love it. OR... go out and buy a universal remote at Radio Shack for like $10. and you can both have a remote.

Generally men buy electronics, if the money comes from my effort and I buy something I own it. So we do not think we own the remote we KNOW we own the remote and if you do not like it buy your self a TV and remote out of your own efforts

Men hog the remote either because they know that your going to change the channel to something he doesn't want to watch or because he just had a bad day and wants to relax and watch what he wants to watch. Maybe you should put yourself in his shoes the next time he is a remote control freak.

the remote to her tv, so we are sharing as she has one

Hi there

trust me its not a man thing. My wife is just evil with the remote. It never leaves her side and when she leaves the room she listens to hear if i have quickly changed the channel. The only time i get to use it is when she can't figure out how to put the DVD player on.lol

I now know nearly all the characters in every soap and every line from sex in the city, friends, Buffy, etc back to front. :(

I must be whipped! lol

I rather own the remote of a lady. If i do something wrong I'd just press fast forward till the bad mood was over and my apology had been accepted. It would save so much time and heart ache.

It's just something we like to do. It's about control really. Women have so much control over us, we need to feel we have control over something!!! For real!!
