I bought a laptop, a 3com wireless card, and I also have DSL high speed internet. Pls tell me how can I use my laptop away from home. I heard some are using there cell phones but i have seen people online using there laptops on the internet and I didn't see any connection far as a cell phone. What are they doing to get a signal.

There is a service with some companys like cingular, they have what they call Wireless Internet PC Cards. this card you can use them on your laptop an it dial number like a telephone but it is really a modem, you can connect to the internet almos anyware wile you ha signal like a cell phone. this card you can also use it on your desktop computer buying an adapter you can find in Comp USA or CompUsa.com

they might b using a wireless modem..that is connected to the the pc by wires....but can work on the laptop widout connections....jus some changes made in the settings ....i say so bcos im using one and it works very well.

They may be using an Air Card. It's driven by a celluar connection.

There are also free and pay wireless hotspots in restaurants, coffee shops, city parks, hotels etc.
