My boyfriend has 3 felonies that re 4 or 5 years old..he is interested in getting these felonies expunged.they r for theft. how would u go about starting this process?? i live in IL..thanks.

Call your local Illinois Bar Association and ask them to refer you to attorney who has experience in preparing expungements. Then call the lawyer, arrange an appointment and discuss the entire case with him or her.

Was he a minor at the time of the offenses? If not, then he won't be able to get the record expunged. If he was a minor, contact a lawyer with experience in this area.

They dont get expunged unless he gets a full pardon from the President or if he is a minor then the records are sealed under the Juvenile Act.
